It's long been established that both Titanfall and Apex Legends exist in the same universe and the latter has referenced the former through story and worldbuilding, but the dream is to see actual Titans be added to the game. As popular as Apex Legends is, fans of Respawn's previous work on the Titanfall games have been hoping for not just a new entry but to see more gameplay elements of Titanfall be added to Apex Legends.
